Love birds, vintage cloth

Handwoven cloth in cotton/linen with hand emboidery and woven embossed "stripes". The embroidery symbols, two  (love)birds refer to a couple's occasion like a farmer's engagement or wedding.  Ground color and fringes are in off white (not pure white) color, with the cross-stitched hand-embroidery of the birds and flower guirlandes at both ends in pink and green. Below these guirlandes are a couple of "embossed" woven piqué stripes of a thicker structure in the ground thread. It has tied fringes in a nice special pattern on both ends. Size is 130 cm high and 70 cm wide. 

It comes in a clean state, no stains, just a few loose thread at the backside (see last picture) and other irregularities belonging to this type of thread and fabric that is handwoven. Old-fashioned linen and cotton sturdy fabric.  

It can be used for all kinds of purposes or decoration, in the past these cloths were often used as vineyard tablecloths and such.  It would make for a very original and personal gift for a couple.
